DeKALB – Three DeKalb businesses failed tobacco sales compliance checks done throughout the city Sunday, according to a news release from the DeKalb Police Department.

Employees at Huskies Tobacco, 1023 W. Hillcrest Drive, Fasmart, 125 N. Annie Glidden Road, and Casey’s at 2131 E. Lincoln Highway sold tobacco to a minor, according to the release, which says the business were cited, given an information kit on how to address the issue, spoken to by a police officer.

The checks are funded by a “Kids Can’t Buy Em Here” grant awarded by the Illinois Liquor Control Commission, the release says, adding that this was the second of two round of compliance checks.
