The battle against capitalistic forces of the British by revolutionary freedom fighter Alluri Seetharama Raju is worthy of emulation even today, Praja Sahiti Editor P.S. Nagaraju has said.

He presided over a meeting organised to release the historical book ‘Aakupaccha Suryodayam’, written by Goparaju Narayana Rao, at a function here on Monday.

Addressing the gathering, he said that Alluri’s fight against the British would remain etched in the history forever. Senior journalist and author of the book, Goparaj Narayana Rao said that history should be reviewed from time to time and made available to people. He said that he had toured all areas in the tribal areas of Visakhapatnam and other districts, where Alluri had organised the armed rebellion against the British.

Jana Sahiti State president Divi Kumar released the book. Jana Sahiti State executive member K. Bhanu Murthy introduced the book and State joint secretary OVVS Ramakrishna spoke.
