Govt hiring faculty for Prayas schools

The State Government will be hiring faculty for two fully residential “Prayas Schools” for Raipur district, being operated under the Mukhya Mantri Bal Bhavishya Suraksha Yojna for the Academic Year 2018-19 and 2019-20, officials informed.

The faculty would be coaching students for Class XI and XII under the Chhattisgarh Board and also for coaching for preparation of entrance examination of various national level competitive exams like JEE (Main/Advance for admission IIT, NIT and similar Institute), CA, CS, ICWA, CLAT, Integrated MBA etc.

The Central Government has granted approval  under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) for up-gradation of 704 upper primary schools including 49 porta cabin upper primary schools into secondary schools in 16 Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected districts of Chhattisgarh., officials informed.

Based on the proposals received from State Government, residential facilities (36 boys hostels and 20 girls hostels) were sanctioned in 54 upgraded secondary schools in four Worst LWE affected districts of Chhattisgarh as a special case in the year 2017-18.

Students of other schools in the vicinity of these hostels can also be accommodated in these hostels.

 The proposals for new schools etc under RMSA are submitted by the State Governments/UTs in their Annual Work Plan submitted to the Ministry and the viable proposals are approved in consultation with the State/UT concerned as per scheme norms and availability

With a view to improving quality of education delivery in insurgency-infested Bastar region, the Chhattisgarh Government last year also decided to introduce hi-tech tools for imparting educationin Science, Mathematics and English in Government primary schools.

The Government would be using audio-visual equipment in the schools while also introducing a number of ‘self learning modules’, officials informed.

Notably, Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society (CHiPS), the nodal agency of Department of Electronics & Information Technology of Chhattisgarh Government has developed 'ShaalaKosh' software application  for Department of School Education in the State, officials informed.

The objective of the project is to enable real-time continuous monitoring of more than 48000 Government schools of the Chhattisgarh State and self-reporting of various aspects related to school education to improve the quality of education in Government schools in the State.
