Ranveer Singh tweeted to Ryan Reynolds after announcing that he would be voicing Deadpool in the Hindi version of the upcoming superhero sequel, Deadpool 2. He said that he had no idea how rewarding and fulfilling Hindi foul language could be, tagging Reynolds in the tweet.

“Astonishing how effectively I’ve managed to out-crass my Canadian counterpart @VancityReynolds. Never realised how fulfilling & rewarding foul Hindi language can be!” Ranveer wrote on Monday, and shared the new Hindi trailer for the film. In the trailer, Ranveer channels Marathi and Punjabi hotheads as he interprets the character made famous by Reynolds.

The Canadian star replied to Ranveer’s tweet and said that if he attempted Hindi cursing, there would be an international incident. Ranveer initially turned down the offer to voice Deadpool, citing scheduling conflicts.

Indian stars have previously played Marvel superheroes when Varun Dhawan voiced Captain America in Captain America: Civil War, Tiger Shroff voiced Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Homecoming and Rana Daggubati voiced Thanos for the Telugu version of Avengers: Infinity War.

The sequel, directed by David Leitch, also features Josh Brolin, Morena Baccarin, Karan Soni, Zazie Beetz, Brianna Hildebrand, Stefan Kapicic and Leslie Uggams. The film is scheduled for a May 18 release.
