A woman, who was mistakenly left behind by her husband on the way in Angul district on May 3 night has been traced and she has denied the allegation of gangrape or any such kind of incident happening to her.

Police traced the woman from Jagatsinghpur town where she reached on Sunday and visited her sister’s residence three days after the incident.

She said that she was mistakenly abandoned by her husband at Nakchi in Angul district and she struggled a lot at night to get shelter and reach Jagatsinghpur.

“While we were travelling in a car, we stopped for water on the way and I went to toilet. I came back for water bottle from the car and it was locked due to strong wind blowing outside at night. My husband thought that I am inside the car and drove away mistakenly leaving me behind. Being nervous, I requested the locals for help. Then, I took shelter at someone’s home, who told me to stay for two to four days until I get well. That person helped me board the bus from Angul and I reached my sister’s house here,” said the woman. However, she refuted the allegation of experiencing any nightmare or gangrape by miscreants in Angul after she was left behind by her husband.

Clearing the air on allegation of gangrape and murder following her missing, she said, “No such thing has happened to me. I don’t know anything about the report. I am yet to contact my husband.
