Stetson junior right-hander Jack Perkins (8-2) was named ASUN Pitcher of the Week after he retired the final 16 Jacksonville batters in an 8-2 victory on Saturday. He struck out eight.
ERAU's Warner, Farner, Metcalfe honored
Embry-Riddle's Calahan Warren and Zachery Farner have been named Peach Belt Conference Men's Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively.
Warren captured the 1,500 meters at the Seminole Twilight (conference record 3:47.33, NCAA provisional time) while Farner was second in the hammer (NCAA provisional distance, conference record 55.34 meters).
For the women, Kristen Metcalfe earned Track Athlete of the Week for the fourth time this season. She won the 1,500 (conference record 4:22.54, lowered her NCAA provisional time, fourth-fastest D-II time).
MEAC announces softball bracket
Bethune-Cookman will host the MEAC Tournament at Ormond Beach Sports Complex starting Wednesday. As the top seed in the South Division, the Wildcats (15-3 MEAC) will face Coppin State at noon.
McLaughlin named to All-Academic Team
Stetson's Molly McLaughlin (.287, 3 home runs, 32 RBIs, 3.81 cumulative GPA as Mathematics major) has been named to the ASUN Softball All-Academic team.
