Woman DSP’s death: Court issues summons to father

The Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Coimbatore has issued a summons to the father of the late Tiruchengode DSP Vishnu Priya to appear before it on Wednesday following a report submitted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) dropping further action in the investigation into her death.

The summons issued to the late DSP's father M. Ravi stated that CBI has decided to drop further action in investigation into the case. As per the summons, Mr. Ravi has been asked to appear before the court on Wednesday and depose, if anything he has to say, in this regard.

Speaking to The Hindu, Mr. Ravi said that he will decide further course of action after reviewing the report submitted by the investigating agency.

“I expect that I will get a copy of the report on Wednesday,” said Mr. Ravi.

Vishnu Priya was found hanging in her residence in Tiruchengode in Namakkal district on September 18, 2015. The case was investigated by the State police and later transferred to the CB-CID. The investigation was transferred to the CBI in July, 2016.
