Jones to add attack coach for Bok series

2018-05-08 22:19

Cape Town - England coach Eddie Jones is set to call on the services of an attack coach for next month’s tour to South Africa.

In an interview with BBC Sport, Jones said he already has a candidate in mind, with the coach's identity to be revealed shortly.

"We need to bring in another coach to help with the attack. We are looking to take another coach on tour and I've got the right person for this tour. When the time is right we will announce it. It's certainly someone I have worked with before,” Jones said.

Jones has been without a backline specialist since Rory Teague left the England set-up to join French club Bordeaux last May.

England head into the three-Test series against the Springboks under pressure after finishing fifth in the 2018 Six Nations - their worst performance in 31 years.

The first Test between South Africa and England is scheduled for Ellis Park in Johannesburg on June 9, followed by Tests in Bloemfontein (Free State Stadium, June 16) and Cape Town (Newlands, June 23).

Jones will name his England squad for the tour later this week.
