Civil Services prelims exam 2018: Admit cards released by UPSC, how to download

New Delhi: Admits cards of UPSC Civil Services preliminary exam of 2018 have been released online. Aspirants who have registered for the exam can now download their e-Admit card at UPSC’s official website ‘upsc.gov.in’.

It is necessary for the candidates of the exam to carry the printout copy of the admit cards at the exam centre. “Candidates are advised to download their e-admit cards and take a printout thereof. The admitted candidates will have to produce the printout of their e-admit card at the allotted venue for the examination,” UPSC said in a statement.

UPSC conducts the civil services exam annually. The exam is carried out in three stages- preliminary, main and interview. The successful candidates are selected for the post of Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) among others.


This year, the Civil Services preliminary exam will be held on June 3, 2018 along with the Indian Forest Services exam. Last year, the Civil Services (preliminary) examination, 2017 was conducted on June 18, 2017. A total of 9,57,590 candidates had applied for it and 4,56,625 actually appeared for the exams. The final results were declared in the month of April, 2017. With 55.6 percent, Durishetty Anudeep secured the first rank.

Candidates have been also suggested by UPSC not to wait till the last minute and download the admit card beforehand.

Approximately 782 is the number of vacancies to be filled by the result of this year’s civil services exams. This also includes 32 vacancies reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disability Category.
