You know it is going to be a bad day when you launch your tow vehicle and trailer along with your boat.
Just such a thing happened about 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the boat ramps in Bings Landing.
According to a report from the Flagler County Sheriff's Office, Abraham Hartzema, 70, was trying to load his boat onto its trailer when he got out and inadvertently left his Toyota Highlander in reverse. It rolled backwards into the water, submerging the vehicle and trailer in the Intracoastal Waterway.
No one was hurt, but the boat ramp was closed for about an hour-and-a-half until a wrecker arrived to tow the car and trailer out of the water. The vehicle and trailer were both deemed a total loss, according to the report.
