ITALY flight cancellations are to affect thousands of passengers thanks to the strike by air traffic controllers and ground staff. British Airways has already cancelled a number of flights today - full list below.
Italy flights are being cancelled from the UK thanks to a strike by ground staff and air traffic controllers.
Airlines including easyJet and Ryanair have already cancelled a number of flights today thanks to this, with British Airways being the worst affected so far.
The airline has cancelled over 10 flights across the UK with many airports being affected.
The strike is taking place between 10am and 6pm today with passengers facing a large amount of disruption.

British Airways has issued a statement on the website for travellers who find their flights affected.
"We are expecting industrial action by the main Air Traffic Control trade unions as part of a national strike in Italy on Tuesday May 8.

"This will, unfortunately, bring another wave of unnecessary disruption for some customers travelling in Europe.
“We will be using larger aircraft, where possible, to help affected customers and are doing all we can to reduce the levels of disruption.
“Public transport to and from airports could also be affected by the national strike, so please allow extra time for your travel plans before and after your flights.
“Any customer due to fly to or from any Italian airport on Tuesday May 8, regardless of whether their British Airways flight is operating or not, can bring their flight forward ahead of the strike period or move it back to a date up to and including Friday May 11.”
Other airlines have also been affected by the Italian strike.
Ryanair and easyJet have been forced to cancel a number of scheduled flights to Italy.
