The market breadth was in favour of the advances with 830 stocks advancing while 742 declined and 465 remained unchanged. On the other hand, in the BSE, 1031 stocks advanced and 856 declined and 69 remained unchanged.
The Indian equity market was trading on a flat to positive note on Tuesday morning with the Nifty adding 13 points and was trading at 10,728 while the Sensex was up 69 points or 0.2 percent.
Bank Nifty was marginally up led by ICICI Bank which zoomed over 6 percent despite the bank reporting a poor set of Q4 numbers. Axis Bank added close to 2 percent while Yes Bank was up 1 percent.
CNX Realty was up 1 percent led by stocks like Godrej Properties which jumped 7 percent while Prestige Estates and DLF were the other gainers.
The top Nifty gainers included ICICI Bank which was up 6 percent followed by Axis Bank, Eicher Motors, ONGC and Yes Bank which added 1-2 percent each.

The most active Nifty stocks included PC Jeweller which plunged 11 percent. ICICI Bank added close to 7 percent. PNB Housing Finance was down 6 percent after around 2.6 percent equity has exchanged hands in a block deal.
According to a report in The Times of India Quality Investment Holdings, an arm of the PE giant Carlyle, is said to be selling 80 lakh shares of the firm. This amounts 4.8 percent of its equity, for around Rs 1,040 crore with the help of block deals.
Axis Bank and Tata Consultancy Services were the other active stocks.
The top Nifty losers were IndusInd Bank which shed 2 percent while Hindalco Industries, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Wipro and Mahindra & Mahindra also traded lower.
The top BSE gainers included Godrej Properties which jumped 7 percent while ICICI Bank added 6 percent. DEN Networks, BEML and INOX Leisure were the other top BSE gainers.
The top BSE losers included names like PC Jeweller which shed 10 percent while PNB Housing, Trident, HCC and Reliance Communications were the other losers.
Ashok Leyland, Bombay Dyeing, Divis Labs, Godrej Properties, Jubilant Foodworks and Pfizer were few of the stocks that hit fresh 52-week high in the morning trade.
On the other hand, 40 stocks hit new 52-week low including names like Alok Industries, Orient Cement, Suzlon Energy and Vakrangee among others.
