Chandigarh(Narinder Jagga): The Punjab Schedule Caste Commission has directed to Kapurthala Police to withdraw security cover, given to the leaders of Shiv Sena and Hindu outfit as they used security cover to spread violence. Such directions have been issued in the Phagwara violence case, which occurred on April 13, in which a dalit youth had been killed in firing by the Hindu leaders. Commission has also directed to the Police to cancel the arms licences of such Hindu leaders. Commission has sought a report in this regard and next hearing will be on May 10.The clash between two groups had occurred over renaming of a roundabout on the Jalandhar-Ludhiana National Highway and at least a dozen rounds were fired and stones were pelted, which left six youths injured. One, who suffered a bullet injury in the head, has succumbed to death few days later on April 29.The Commission had taken sue moto notice on the news published in a section of media. In its strict notice, the Commission had said if the instructions were not followed then the Commission will be helpless to use its Power of Civil Court, which authorise the Commission with court powers.
The SSP of Kapurthala had been asked to put the facts and information forwarded to the Commission through a competent Officer. A DSP rank officer has submitted the report to the Commission. In this case four leaders of Shiv Sena and Hindu Suraksha Samiti have been arrested. But the Commission has further told to Police to verify other peoples, who were included in such incident.
Non-bailable warrant against Shiv Sena Leader
Chandigarh- the Punjab Police has procured arrest warrant from the Court to arrest Sudhir Kumar Suri, President of Shiv Sena (Hindustan). There is a case against him in Police Station, Civil Line, Amritsar to use abusive language against Schedule under SC/ST act and IT act. But after the registration of case, he has left Punjab and his mobile location revealed his destination Shirdi in Maharashtra State.
