Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) veteran Yusuf Pathan has likened his one-handed stunner to dismiss Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) batting mainstay and skipper Virat Kohli with plucking mangoes from trees, while bantering with his brother Irfan Pathan on social media.

Yusuf pulled off a stunning catch on Monday night to dash RCB’s hopes of a win in a tricky chase against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The one-handed grab from Yusuf off Shakib Al Hasan, while fielding at short third man, came at a crucial point in the game, and help restrict Kohli’s innings to a 30-ball 39.

The ball from the Bangladeshi spinner had risen sharply on Kohli, who, surprised with the bounce, could not prevent a leading edge which flew towards Yusuf, who thoroughly enjoyed his effort.

The best comment on social media came from the cricketer himself when his cricketer-turned-commentator brother posed a question on social media.

Irfan asked, “ (Sic) Ye catch tha ya Aam todaa hay?? (Have you taken a catch or plucked a mango?)”

Yusuf was funny in his reply, as he said, “(Sic) Bachpan m itne aam tode hain humne sath m abtk adat nahi gayi. (We plucked so many mangoes in our childhood together that the habit still remains)”.

Pathan’s effort was celebrated by the fans too.

SRH will now travel to New Delhi for their game against Delhi Daredevils (DD) on Thursday, May 10, at the Feroze Shah Kotla Stadium.
