May 8 (UPI) -- An elephant calf that became separated from her herd was caught on video chasing after witnesses who attempted to pose for selfies with the animal.
Witnesses said the 4-month-old baby elephant attracted a crowd of onlookers Friday near the Chhendipada forest in Odisha, India.
The elephant was filmed becoming agitated at onlookers who attempted to take selfies with the pachyderm.
The calf chases after the selfie-takers and even knocks over some of their motorcycles.
Forest department officials said rangers attempted to return the elephant calf to her herd, but she was reluctant to go back into the forest.
The calf was taken to Forest Rangers' College in Angul to be examined by veterinarians.
Officials said the calf will be treated if needed and will eventually be returned to her herd.
