Biolab participated in the 14th International Conference of Jordan Society for Obstetricians and Gynecologists that was held under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Muna Al Hussein and in the presence of Minister of Health H.E. Prof. Mahmoud Al Sheyyab. Biolab – the Kingdom’s leading diagnostic laboratory that is accredited by four international bodies –highlighted Janini test, the latest and most advanced genetic testing that pregnant women can undertake starting from 10 weeks of pregnancy and is considered the first of its kind in the Middle East. The special thing about this test is that it causes no miscarriage risk on the mother nor baby as it only requires a blood sample from the mother and thus has no risk in any way. Janini is a Non-Invasive Prenatal Test (NIPT) that screens for the three most common ‘trisomy’ conditions present at birth; Down’s Syndrome, Edwards’ Syndrome and Patau Syndrome, caused by extra or missing genetic information in the baby’s DNA, in addition to the baby’s gender.
Various scientific topics ranging from infertility, feto-maternal medicine, obstetrics and genetics, laparoscopic surgery, and gynae-oncology were discussed during the conference by reputable doctors and professors in obstetrics and gynecology from different countries around the world.
Marking this occasion, Biolab’s CEO and founder, Dr. Amid Abdelnour, emphasized that Biolab is proud to have reached the most advanced diagnostic technologies through the Janini test that is considered the first of its kind in the Middle East. He pointed out that through the skilled team in Biolab this test is operated with an accuracy rate of 99.9%. He added that Biolab constantly seeks to share and disseminate the latest developments and scientific knowledge with the rest of the world, acting as a model in advancing the best medical services at the regional and international levels.
As a regional pioneer in the field of medical diagnostics and laboratory testing, Biolab provides an extensive portfolio of more than 700 diagnostic services, catering to individuals, physicians, hospitals, and other laboratories across Jordan and the Middle East.
