Ahmednagar, was staying in room number 15 at hostel number 4. Around 6.30am on Monday, Aher started feeling uneasy and cried for help. The students in the adjacent rooms and the security guards took him to the university health centre.
The doctors at the health centre shifted him to
Sassoon General Hospital in an ambulance. Aher died at the hospital when doctors were treating him, a statement said.
A peer of Aher, staying in the same hostel, said, “Aher was fine till he went to sleep on Monday night. We heard him shouting early in the morning and by the time we reached his room, he had fainted.”
Following Aher’s death, the commerce students demanded postponement of the papers scheduled for Monday because they were in deep shock. Vice-chancellor
Nitin Karmalkar agreed. “It was decided to conduct these papers after all other papers got over as per the schedule.”
Four papers, including E-Commerce first year paper on business processes and practices and second year paper on internet and web designing, were scheduled on Monday.
