BMW M2 Competition Gets Some Radical M Performance Parts

The BMW M2 Competition only just debuted, but the German automaker has already rolled out an entire suite of M Performance goodies for the sports coupe.

Among the most impressive of these M Performance parts for the M2 Competition are the new adjustable dampers. The compression and rebound can be easily adjusted and BMW says the springs will lower ride height by 20mm and also reduce body roll. Joining the stiffer springs are lightweight 19-inch forged alloy wheels (available in black or gold), which allow for the new M Sports Brake System to be fitted to the car. The upgraded braking kit consists of aluminum 6-piston calipers on the front axle and 4-piston fixed calipers out back. BMW also offers sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires with the larger 19-inch wheels.

And then there’s the visual modifications. M Performance has developed a variety of visual mods for the car including a carbon fiber hood, a carbon fiber roof, a carbon fiber trunk lid, carbon fiber mirror caps and a carbon fiber M Performance side panel, among more. Some of the aero modifications include a carbon front splitter and rear diffuser, carbon side skirt extensions and a carbon spoiler. If you’re really feeling carbon-crazy, you can also opt for a carbon fiber M Performance engine cover. BMW’s internal aftermarket division has developed a sporty exhaust system with carbon fiber M logos for the car as well, enhancing both the sound and look.

BMW is also offering an ‘M Performance Drive Analyser’ for the M2 Competition, which allows the user to record their driving and then analyze the data later on. Other M Performance offerings for the extra-hot M2 include carbon door sills, an M performance pedal set, an Alcantara/carbon fiber wheel and an Alcantara/carbon fiber gear selector.

Pricing for BMW’s wide array of M2 Competition parts has yet to be announced, but they sure do look expensive.
