Jackie Shroff to play an Aghori sadhu in Kasturi Raja’s Tamil directorial comeback

Jackie Shroff will soon to be seen as an Aghori sadhu in a new film called Paandi Muni, to be directed by Dhanush’s father Kasturi Raja.

Filmmaker Kasthuri Raja, known for launching his son Dhanush’s career with the film Thulluvadho Ilamai, is all set to return to direction after a decade. The veteran director’s next film, titled Paandi Muni, which will feature Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff, as one of the leads.

According to a Times of India report, Jackie will be seen playing an Aghori sadhu. The film also stars Nikesha Patel and Meghali in crucial roles.

This is a role that Jackie has probably never done before in his career. The report said that the film is a war between the God and the ghost and will see a clash between characters essayed by Jackie and Meghali respectively.

Jackie had loved the narration and was quite thrilled about his character. He will be in Chennai on May 7 for the official announcement of the project, it added.

Jackie was last seen Tamil thriller Maayavan, in which he played the antagonist. Best remembered for his role as a gangster in national award-winning Tamil film Aaranya Kaandam, Jackie is expected to commence shooting for Paandi Muni from later this month.

Raja’s last directorial project was 2006 film Idhu Kadhal Varum Paruvam. Aghori sadhus, it may be recalled, are Shaiva sadhus who engage in post-mortem rituals.
