Prabuddha Raha, band wow audience at Tagore's 157th birth anniv celebration in Cairo

In an unforgettable night by the Nile, Prabuddha Raha, interdisciplinary artiste Sujoy and paid tributes to laureate on his 157th birth anniversary today.

The trio regaled the audience with their show 'Music Mind', in which they performed songs penned by the as part of the Tagore festival here.

Raha, with his group, took the audience on an emotional journey as they performed a repertoire of Tagore's songs that are influenced by Western and world music.

"Tagore was fond of music by and Mozart and other great composed and all this finally resulted in his own music, the music he created is neither Indian nor Western. But it is truly international in nature. 'Music Mind' is a journey to explore Tagore as a of world music," Sengupta said.

The songs the band played were - "E Monihar Amaey", "Boro Asha Kore", "Kotobaro Bhebechhinu", "Bujhi Elo Bujhi Elo Ore Pran" among others.

The tracks were sung in Bengali but the English translation was made available to the audience on the screens.
