Congress certain to get a clear majority, says Narayanasamy

Puducherry Chief Minister and Finance Minister V. Narayanasamy, who arrived here on Sunday to participate in Monday’s Finance Ministers’ conclave at the Secretariat, exhorted people of Andhra Pradesh living in Karnataka to teach the BJP a lesson by voting against it in the Assembly elections there for cheating them in the name of Special Category Status (SCS) and going back on other promises related to bifurcation.

Polavaram

The UPAI had undertaken to bear the entire cost of the Polavaram project and shoulder the responsibility of constructing the capital city, Amaravati, and the same had been recorded in the Parliamentary proceedings, Mr. Narayanasamy said while addressing the media.

Mr. Narayanasamy exuded confidence that the Congress would come to power in Karnataka with a clear majority.

SCS issue

Congress president Rahul Gandhi would accord SCS to Andhra Pradesh the moment he becomes the Prime Minister, he added.

He said the NDA Government was not in a position to give a detailed account of the black money claimed to have been unearthed by it after demonetisation. The inability to provide employment to two crore people was another glaring failure of the BJP-led ruling coalition, he added.

The BJP used the CBI, the Income Tax Department, and the Enforcement Directorate as tools to achieve its political goals, Mr. Narayanasamy alleged. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddharamaiah was poised to spell doom to the BJP, he said.
