PM Narendra Modi reviews preparations for launch of Health Assurance programme |
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today reviewed preparations for the launch of Health Assurance programme under Ayushman Bharat. The Prime Minister was apprised of the preparation done so far, including consultations with states for the smooth rollout of the programme. Top officials of the Health Ministry, NITI Aayog, and PMO briefed him on various aspects of the scheme.
The scheme will provide a cover of up to five lakh rupees per family. It will be targeted to cover over 10 crore poor and vulnerable families. Mr Modi stressed on providing maximum benefit to the poor and marginalised sections of society under this scheme. The Prime Minister had inaugurated the first Health and Wellness Centre under Ayushman Bharat in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district last month.
