Cahill, Arzani named in Socceroos' preliminary World Cup squad
Veteran Tim Cahill and 19-year-old Daniel Arzani are in Australia's preliminary 32-man squad for next month's World Cup in Russia.
Croatian-born 21-year-old right-back Fran Karacic is the shock selection in the squad announced by coach Bert van Marwijk on Monday.
Cahill, 38, remains in the frame for a fourth consecutive appearance at soccer's showpiece tournament while Arzani's stellar A-League season with Melbourne City has been rewarded.
