The Buckeye Career Center Foundation will present awards to two Buckeye Career Center alumni at its 18th annual recognition banquet to be held May 9 in the Kent State University Tuscarawas Performing Arts Center, 330 University Drive NE, New Philadelphia.

A social hour with hors d’oeuvres will begin at 6:30 p.m., and the awards program will begin at 7:15 p.m. The Alumnus of the Year Award will be presented to Michael Goodwin. He is a 1979 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and the BCC carpentry program.

The Alumnus of the Year-Previous Scholarship Recipient Award will be presented to Rachel Olinger Miller. She is a graduate of Garaway High School and the BCC accounting program.

Area businesses Tusco Display and The Belden Brick Co. will be honored with Spotlight Awards, and 19 BCC graduating students from the Class of 2018 will receive Buckeye Foundation Scholarship Awards for $2,500 each.
