Karnataka Elections 2018: Siddaramaiah issues legal notice to PM Modi, Amit Shah and Yeddyurappa

An act which many seem to deepen the political rivalry between the Congress and the BJP, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah today sent a six-page legal notice to PM Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and BJP's chief ministerial candiadate BS Yeddyurappa.

Siddaramaiah demanded a public apology from the Prime Minister over the allegations made during his public speeches against the Congress government.

Siddaramaiah also expressed that the "Sidda-Rupiah" jibe was highly personalised. The notice also mentions the BJP’s ad campaign in the state, which also targeted the Siddaramaiah government.

PM Modi in his earlier speeches has targeted Siddaramaiah and his government, calling it a ‘Seedha Rupaiya Sarkar’ and ’10 per cent government’.

Siddaramaiah has threatened to sue the BJP and the PM if the latter fails to apologise. In fact, the Congress has threatened to file Rs 100 crore defamation suit in that case.

In his public rallies in the poll-bound Karnataka, PM Modi has targeted Siddaramaiah and his government, calling it a ‘Seedha Rupaiya Sarkar’ and ’10 per cent government’.
