CHITWAN: Police arrested a man on charges of throwing acid over his friend after a dispute between the two in Bharatpur Municipality-2, Belatadi.
The victim has sustained critical injuries in the incident, it has been learnt.
A worker at an ornament shop in Narayangadh, Sujit Kumar Bishwakarma (30) of Dhading, Nalang threw acid on Birman Maharjan (35) also from Dhading at around 3:20 am on Monday. Both Maharjan and Bishwakarma were tenants in Prem Sunar’s house in Belatadi, police said.
According to the police, Maharjan and Bishwakarma were under the influence of alcohol when a dispute erupted between the two.
The victim with serious burn injuries in his eyes, face and neck is undergoing treatment at Bharatpur Medical College, Bharatpur.
