New Zealand's Sarah Walker crashes out in semifinal at BMX World Cup

Olympian Sarah Walker makes the UCI BMX world cup semi finals but suffered a crash missing out on a final spot.
Olympic medallist Sarah Walker crashed in her semifinal of the UCI BMX World Cup Supercross event in the Netherlands on Monday.
Walker qualified for two semifinals at the event but crashed off the side of the track before walking away unharmed.
She made a strong start to her semifinal on the second day of competition at Papendal. Walker was ninth on the opening day, missing out on a spot in the final by 0.5s in her semifinal.
She again worked through to the semifinal on the second day and made an excellent start before being squeezed off the side of the track on the second straight.

Walker missed out on chasing a medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics after breaking her arm earlier that year.
Fellow Kiwi Olympian Trent Jones was the next best of the Kiwis, making the quarterfinals on both days of competition. The US-based rider won his first round and worked his way into the quarterfinal where he was sixth on day one.
On Monday Jones went through three rounds of racing but got mixed up in a melee out of the gate and finished eighth in his quarterfinal.
Te Awamutu's Rebecca Petch went out in the round of eight on the first day and in the quarterfinals today, edged out on her first World Cup semifinal by one spot. Clubmate Cole McOnie went out in the second round on day one and the round of 16 on day two, while Hamilton's Todd Barry missed out on the elimination rounds on both days.
The next double round is at Zolder in Belgium this weekend.
