Bhopal: Claiming self to be a politician who is there to work for the welfare of the people and marginalised, newly appointed Congress state president Kamal Nath said that he is not an industrialist as dubbed by BJP leaders. “I am not a corporate man, do not own any company or have any shares and if anyone has any proof they should come with it, dared Nath while addressing the media persons, here on Sunday.
He was disputing the claim of BJP state president Amit Shah, who during visit to the state capital recently, without naming Nath had said that the election battle is between the Kisan Putra (chief minister Shivraj Singh Couhan) and industrialist (Kamal Nath). “The Congress party is contesting the election from the public side and the party will have to face the BJP’s money power. But nobody knows from where the money is coming from,” said Nath.
Earlier, Nath held the first meeting of the district Congress presidents and shared gave them the roadmap for the election 2018. He also raised the problem prevailing in the farm sector and also expressed concern over the farmers’ condition in the state. “The governments including state and Union have failed to provide the minimum support price to the agriculture produces because of their visionless policy,” said the Congress president.
Speaking about the government import policy, Nath said “The import of any product is based on the production, but the Union government is importing the produces without assessing the state internal production and this is causing huge loss to the farmers. They are not getting the proper value of their produces,” he claimed.
