An 18-year-old DeLand man was shot in the leg while walking with friends, police said.

Officers responded near the corner of South Stone Street and West Hubbard Avenue after 9 p.m. Sunday when they received reports of shots fired, according to a statement on the DeLand Police Department's website.

"When officers arrived on the scene, "they found an 18-year-old man in the driveway of a residence on West Hubbard Avenue with a gunshot wound to one of his legs," officials said.

Witnesses told police that the man, Delvaughn Robinson, was walking with friends when gunshots were fired from an unknown direction.
