Queensland mum accused of taking kids denied bail

A woman charged with taking off with her twin daughters from Queensland four years ago has been denied bail.

The girls, from Townsville, were seven when they were allegedly abducted outside a school by their mother in April 2014 after a custody dispute.

They were found in Taree in regional NSW on Friday after a joint investigation by Australian Federal Police and Queensland Police.

The 46-year-old woman on Monday faced two counts of child stealing in Brisbane Magistrates Court.
