Shivam New Diamond Academy and Western Regional Volleyball Association advanced to the semi-finals of the fourth KNP Japan National Women’s Volleyball Tournament here at the NSC covered hall today.

NDA defeated Tribhuvan Army Club 3-2 to finish as Group B runners-up, while Western thrashed Jawalakhel Volleyball Training Centre in straight sets to become the Group A runners-up.

The results meant, TAC and Jawalakhel were knocked out of the six-team competition.

In the day’s first match, NDA took the first 25-19 before TAC bounced back to win the second 25-19. NDA restored the lead claiming the third set 25-18 but TAC levelled the scores for the second time by winning the fourth set 25-22. However, NDA claimed the deciding final set 15-10 riding on Pratibha Mali’s eight points.

Similarly, Western conceded 13 points in the first set before Jawalakhel scored 20 points each in remaining two sets.

In Monday’s semi-final matches, TAC will take on Group A winners Nepal APF Club, while Western will face Group B winners Nepal Police Club.
