Sudeep campaigns for Sriramulu

Kannada actor Sudeep took part in an election campaign in favour of BJP candidate from Molakalmur Assembly segment B. Sriramulu here on Monday. He may campaign for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Chamundeshwari constituency.

Mr. Sudeep visited Shri Thipperudraswamy temple in Nayakanhatti and took part in a roadshow in Chitradurga. The actor faced an embarrassing situation in Nayakanhatti village during the roadshow as some supporters of S. Thippeswamy, MLA, raised slogans in favour of their leader, but received overwhelming response elsewhere.

Meanwhile, speaking to reporters in Mysuru on Monday, Mr. Siddaramaiah said Mr. Sudeep, who had met him about one month ago, had promised to campaign in Chamundeshwari on May 9. “He may come. I have not spoken to him after that,” Mr Siddaramaiah said.

Mr. Sudeep’s proposed campaign for Mr. Siddaramaiah in Chamundeshwari constituency comes close on the heels of a similar campaign undertaken by Darshan, which had led to skirmishes between JD(S) and Congress workers.

Supporters of both the parties were injured in the clashes that took place after Mr. Darshan conducted a roadshow in Naganahalli village on the outskirts of Mysuru on Saturday.
