Hello Cyril. You fly economy in an effort to appear to be an ordinary South African, so maybe you also read what ordinary people think on websites like News24. Maybe one of your yes-people will read this and pass it on to you. I doubt it though. Just like Zuma, you have surrounded yourself with people who will only tell you what you want to hear.
As much as I want to believe you are the real deal and, like Moses, will lead South Africans back to the land promised by The Struggle, you make it impossible for honest people to take you seriously. I have to label you a fraud because while your words may be articulate and eloquent your actions and decision-making raise serious doubts about your true intentions. Your words are as empty as a child’s soap bubble carried up into the sky only to disappear into thin air as you watch it.
You say you’re going to tackle corruption and fight state capture and the guilty parties must be brought to book but not only are most of the state corruptors snugly in their positions, you continue to shun people with proven integrity which can only lead us to question your own integrity.
Do you think you’re one of Marvel Comic’s superheroes? It sure looks like you do because you think your words have some sort of super power to just make things happen.
I was sickened to read that Mcebisi Jonas has been appointed to the board of MTN. Not because he is incapable or doesn’t deserve it but because it proves that he knows you are going to continue to ostracise him. You do Jonas and the country a great disservice. It is difficult to adequately express my disappointment in you as the president and as a man.
It took massive courage and integrity for Jonas to pull his finger out of the dyke of state capture, a decision that started the trickle that became the flood that, just by-the-by, lead directly to your election as President. He had the courage, honour and integrity to speak up before it became fashionable to do so and, just by-the-by again, while you sat cosily next to our Giggling Corruptor in Chief with your lips pursed tightly closed.
Not only does Jonas deserve a senior position in your cabinet, he would make an excellent minister of any ministry to which he was appointed. He has proven himself not only willing and capable but deserving too. You, and we the people, would all know that Jonas’ministry would be in good, capable and honest hands and we wouldn’t have to worry about it.
The same can be said for Vytjie Mentor.
It is astounding, and severely damaging to your credibility, that you refuse to appoint Mcebisi Jonas, or Vytjie Mentor to meaningful positions in your cabinet. Is it because you’re ashamed that they spoke up when you were too scared too? Well, shame on you sir!
If you want South Africa and the world to believe the words that leave your lips, then you need to back them up with equitable actions and not only pursue those guilty of corruption but you need to reward the handful of heroes who stood up to be counted when it was so dangerous to do so. You need to appoint Jonas and Mentor to your cabinet. Until you do, I will see you for what you appear to be, just another posing politician who hasn’t the guts or integrity to do what needs to be done to restore South Africa’s honour and respect.
