Nine charged after the death of a woman in Toowoomba

Nine people have been charged after a woman died from serious injuries in Toowoomba on Sunday.

Emergency services were called to a Wilsonton property about 2.10pm and found a woman with serious chest injuries.

The 37-year-old was rushed to Toowoomba Base Hospital in a critical condition but later died, police said.

Police picked up eight suspects from a fast food carpark on Sunday afternoon, a police spokesman said.

Overnight, detectives charged six women and three men, aged between 23 and 34, each with two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count of entering dwelling with intent.

The group were scheduled to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Monday.
