LONDON MURDERS: Teen dies after being shot in Kennington street in broad daylight
A 17-year-old boy has died after a shooting in south London. Police were called to reports of shots on Cooks Road, Kennington, at around 6.05pm on Saturday.
The teenager was found with gunshot injuries near Warham Street.
Medics battled to save him but he was pronounced dead just before 7pm.
An investigation has been launched into the incident by officers from the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command.
The teenager’s next of kin have been informed of his death and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course, police said.

A Met Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at approximately 18:05hrs on Saturday, 5 May to reports of gunshots heard on Cooks Road in Southwark.
"Officers, including firearms officers, attended. A 17-year-old boy was found nearby on Warham Street suffering from a gunshot injury.
"The London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance provided first aid; he was pronounced dead at 18:56hrs."
The incident is just one of more than 60 fatal shootings and stabbings on London streets so far this year.
No arrests have been made yet in connection with the shooting.
