Gold Coast home destroyed and resident hospitalised with burns after 'explosion'
A Gold Coast house has been destroyed after an explosion on Saturday night.
A male resident was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital with burns to his legs, arms and torso after emergency services were called to Crescent Avenue in Hope Island about 7.15pm.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokesman Rodney Hall said multiple triple-zero calls were made after the explosion, with people seen running from the house.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward and still investigating the cause of the fire.
