Akron continues hot streak | Indians minors roundup for May 6

• Clippers: Catcher Eric Haase’s two-run home run in the eighth inning lifted Triple-A Columbus (15-13) past Charlotte, 4-3. Second baseman Adam Rosales had a two-run single in the third inning.

• RubberDucks: Visiting Double-A Akron (18-11) beat Bowie for its fifth win in a row, 4-1. Sean Brady (1-2) struck out four in 6 2/3 innings for the Rubberducks, who have won nine of their past 10. Second baseman Mark Mathias was 2-for-2 with a triple and a run scored.

• Hillcats: Zach Plesac pitched a complete game two-hitter, and advanced Single-A Lynchburg (14-15) defeated Myrtle Beach, 4-0. Plesac (2-2) struck out three with zero walks. Mayfield graduate Mitch Longo’s hitting streak ended at 18 games, but he had a sacrifice fly and a run scored.

• Captains: Visiting Beloit sent Single-A Lake County (13-15) to its fourth loss on a six-game homestand, 2-1. Third baseman Nolan Jones had a two hits, including a double, an a run scored for the Captains, who were 1-for-11 with runners in scoring position.
