In an effort to reach out to the people in far off villages mostly located along the Line of Control (LoC), authorities in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir has organised four day-long mega camps and provided over 2,300 revenue documents under the Public Service Guarantee Act (PSGA).
The camps were organised by the revenue department at Islamabad-Haveli, Dharati-Balakote, Mankote and Loran-Mandi yesterday and residents from over a dozen of villages availed various sorts of revenue services enlisted under the PSGA for time bound delivery, District Development Commissioner, Poonch, Mohammad Aijaz Asad said today.
He said a total of 2,353 revenue services were provided, including 863 at Mankote, 576 at Loran, 560 at Islamabad and 354 at Dharati.
Around 784 Actual Line of Control certificates, 460 revenue extracts (Girdawaris and Jamabandis), 20 mutations attestations, 21 permanent resident certificates, 154 income certificates, 76 character and 34 unmarried certificates, 62 other backward class certificates, 15 entries in voter list, 12 Aadhar registrations, 15 affidavit attestations besides 700 caste certificates were provided, Asad said.
Highlighting the importance of such camps in knitting a close contact with the public, he said progress in each camp is monitored on daily basis by a designated team of officials and tehsildars are continuously instructed to make the camps more fruitful by involving other departments.
"The best performing tehsildars and staff members shall be rewarded by the administration," he added.
