Former LPGA star Betsy King will host a clinic/dinner on Sunday, May 20, at Diamond Run Golf Club that will raise funds for Golf Fore Africa.
Joining King will be two other former LPGA Tour players — Missie Berteotti, an Upper St. Clair High School graduate, and Kristy McPherson — as well as Sewickley's Carol Semple Thompson.
Tickets are $100 and available at the Golf Fore Africa website — www.golfforeafrica.org — with $60 of the cost a tax deductible donation.
Golf Fore Africa was founded in 2007 by King following her 2006 trip to Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania and Zambia. After witnessing the plight of poverty and HIV/AIDS and its effects on the children of Africa, King has enlisted the help of golfers around the world to join her cause.
Golf Fore Africa raises money to improve water conditions and bring clean, fresh drinking water to over 200,000 people in rural African nations.
King recently made her 18th trip to Africa.
The clinic/dinner at Diamond Run starts at 3:30 p.m. on May 20.
