Punjilal taken to Raipur to reconstruct crime

The Special Investigating Team (SIT) of the State Crime Branch, which is probing the highly sensational Patnagarh wedding gift parcel blast case, took the sole accused Punjilal Meher to Raipur in Chhattisgarh to reconstruct the crime on Saturday.

The SIT took Punjilal by road from Patnagarh. In Raipur, Punjilal demonstrated to CB sleuths how he went from the railway station to the courier agency and how he despatched the killer parcel from Skyking courier to Patnagarh.

Crime Branch IG Arun Bothra is also in Raipur. He went there by train after conducting investigation at Kantabanji in the morning.

The SIT had questioned the accused and his family members on Friday in Patnagarh.

The accused has confessed that no one helped him in committing the crime, but the Crime Branch suspects the involvement of others. Though the investigating officials have received vital information about the crime, they are still looking for solid evidence to be produced before the court during the trial of the case.
