NEW DELHI: An online casino, running in the guise of a game parlour in a community market in east Delhi’s Krishna Kunj, was busted on Saturday. The gamblers had connected 15 gaming consoles to a server that gave them access to an online portal to place bets. The game was called ‘Game King India’.
The six accused include the manager of the casino, Amit Kashyap. Other accused were identified as Rohit Sharma, Sunny Chhabra, Sachin Kumar, Rishi Kesh and Pankaj Mishra. Police said the men were unemployed and conspired to run the casino as they couldn’t get any jobs.

DCP (east) Pankaj Singh confirmed that the casino was being run from the shop for the past few months. “We received a tipoff on Saturday about an illegal gaming casino being run in Krishan Kunj-Laxmi Nagar area of Shakarpur and a raid was conducted, from where these men were arrested,” DCP Singh said.

The organisers lured customers into bidding a minimum of Rs 1,000 online with a promise of earning Rs 36,000. Police said the organiser had been arrested earlier too for a similar crime.
