Birgunj, May 5
District Police Office, Parsa, launched a campaign against drug abuse in Birgunj today.
The launch of the campaign was marked by an awareness programme rally at the initiative of the DPO. Students from various schools as well as teachers, Nepal Police and Nepali Army personnel, and journalists participated in the rally taken out from Ghantaghar. The campaign aims to Birgunj free from illegal drugs.
After passing through major thoroughfares, the rally had converged into a corner meet at Ghantaghar.
Chief District Officer Lokanath Poudel, SSP Surya Prasad Upadhyaya, SP Ganesh Regmi, among others, urged the stakeholders to help make the campaign a success.
Meanwhile, a door-to-door campaign was launched in Jagarnath Rural Municipality-1 to spread awareness.
