Iturria out of France training camp for NZ tour

2018-05-06 14:35

Paris - France lock Arthur Iturria has pulled out of a training camp for a tour to New Zealand and been replaced by Clermont teammate Paul Jedrasiak, the French team announced Sunday.

Team management have also called up Clermont flanker Alexandre Lapandry as cover.

Although no explanation has been given for Iturria's absence, he was also replaced by Jedrasiak in the 41st minute of a 36-26 win over Toulouse on Saturday.

He is the second lock to pull out of the three-day camp at national rugby centre in Marcoussis near Paris after flanker Louis Picamoles, who has been replaced by Clermont's Judicael Cancoriet.

Picamoles will undergo surgery at the end of the season that will rule him out of the trip.

Racing 92 pair Virimi Vakatawa (groin) and Maxime Machenaud (knee ligaments) will also miss the trip, which will see France face the All Blacks on June 9, 16 and 23.

France's 40-man training squad:

Uini Atonio (La Rochelle), Mathieu Babillot (Castres), Cyril Baille (Toulouse), Mathieu Bastareaud (Toulon), Lionel Beauxis (Lyon), Anthony Belleau (Toulon), Hugo Bonneval (Toulon), Pierre Bourgarit (La Rochelle), Djibril Camara (Stade Franais), Judicael Cancoriet (Clermont), Baptiste Couilloud (Lyon), Geoffrey Doumayrou (La Rochelle), Benjamin Fall (Montpellier), Gael Fickou (Toulouse), Wesley Fofana (Clermont), Paul Gabrillagues (Stade Franais), Kelian Galletier (Montpellier), Kevin Gourdon (La Rochelle), Remy Grosso (Clermont), Guilhem Guirado (Toulon), Yoann Huget (Toulouse), Paul Jedrasiak (Clermont), Felix Lambey (Lyon), Remi Lamerat (Clermont), Alexandre Lapandry (Clermont), Camille Lopez (Clermont), Yoann Maestri (Toulouse), Maxime Mdard (Toulouse), Morgan Parra (Clermont), Adrien Pelissi (Bordeaux-Bgles), Damian Penaud (Clermont), Jules Plisson (Stade Franais), Jefferson Poirot (Bordeaux-Bgles), Dany Priso (La Rochelle), Fabien Sanconnie (Brive), Baptiste Serin (Bordeaux-Bgles), Emerick Setiano (Toulon), Rabah Slimani (Clermont), Franois Trinh-Duc (Toulon), Sbastien Vahaamahina (Clermont)
