Delhi's batting vs SRH's bowling

In yet-another must-win battle, Delhi Daredevils face the mighty Sunrisers Hyderabad at their backyard on Saturday. With an improved batting performance of late, Saturday's clash in Hyderabad will be about Delhi's batsmen against Sunrisers' bowlers.

Hyderabad, who boasts the best bowling unit among all the eight teams, are sitting at top of the IPL table, with six wins from eight matches. Delhi, on the other hand, have just moved out of the bottom position, to be placed in sixth.

Saturday's hosts have been an expert in defending low scores this season. In their last game, SRH bundled out Kings XI Punjab for just 119 while defending a modest target of 132. Notably against defending champions Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers defended 118, by bowling Mumbai out for just 87.

It will be difficult for Delhi batsmen to handle SRH’s bowlers. But, that is one area Delhi have improved tremendously of late. Their batting has been top notch since Shreyas Iyer's appointment as captain. After scoring 219 against Kolkata Knight Riders, Daredevils scored 198 against Chennai Super Kings and 196 in just 17.1 overs against Rajasthan Royals.

Rishabh Pant (375) and Shreyas Iyer (307) have been carrying the run-scoring burden throughout this campaign.

Adding Prithvi Shaw in the thick of things helped Delhi get a solid start from the top order. He has been a revelation in the four matches he played so far. The only problem is he is running out of solid opening partners.

Gautam Gambhir, who played alongside Shaw in one match before being dropped from the side, and Colin Munro have failed to support him at the top order. Another foreign recruit Glenn Maxwell is enduring a torrid time this season.

In the bowling, Trent Boult with 13 wickets, has been their stand out performer, while the experienced Amit Mishra has been doing a decent job. Barring them, the others have struggled to make a consistent impact.

On the other hand, Sunrisers' bowlers have performed splendidly as a unit. The likes of Siddharth Kaul, Rashid Khan, Sandeep Sharma, Basil Thampi and Shakib Al Hasan have all delivered in a regular basis. There is a possibility Bhuvneshwar Kumar might from injury for Saturday's clash.

Their batting hasn't been sparkling this season, but they have done the necessary job required from them.

With 322 runs, skipper Kane Williamson has been leading the batting attack.
