Shipping Secy lauds PPT performance

Union Shipping Ministry Secretary Gopal Krishna visited the Paradip Port Trust (PPT) on Thursday as part of a regular review.

PPT Chairman Rinkesh Roy along with other officials explained him the progress of the ongoing projects in the port and gave a vivid account of the various activities undertaken for augmentation of the port’s capacity, in a review meeting.

The Shipping Secretary expressed his satisfaction over the progress of the projects undertaken by the PPT and congratulated the PPT Chairman and his team for the excellent growth of the port and especially for achieving the coveted 100-MMT mark in the last financial year in terms of cargo handling.

Gopal Krishna also had interactions with stakeholders of the port and went round the port township.
