Days after cremation, cops find real body

Couple of days after cremation of person who was murdered in Vadodara, police found another body on Friday which in reality was of the murdered man. 

“In fact the first body given by police to the family of the victim was somebody else’s. Even the family of victim couldn’t make out and they cremated the body on Tuesday,” said sources in police, adding that the victim 45-year-old businessman Suraj Shah was murdered by his lawyer and two others.

The accused Vijay Ravji Rohit who is lawyer murdered Shah as he was unable to repay a loan of Rs 4.6 lakh he had taken from the victim couple of months ago. The lawyer roped in two other men Shrikand Suresh Pawar and Mehul Santosh Mane to carry out his plan on April 25. The three apparently killed Suraj and threw his body in Narmada canal near Vitoj with a stone tied to his legs.

A dead body floating in the canal was recovered by local police, who took along one of the accused Mehul Mane for identification. Though Mehul insisted that the body was not of the murdered businessman, his family that had rushed to the place identified it to be that of Suraj. The police later took the body for postmortem and handed it over to Suraj’s family for last rites. The family apparently cremated the body.

Suddenly on Friday the police recovered another dead body from Narmada canal, this time from nearby town Halol. Police again called on the victim’s family and they identified it the real body of Suraj. The police also convinced the newly-found body to be that of Suraj because the three accused had claimed that they had tied a stone to the legs of Suraj before throwing him in the canal.

The body found earlier did not have a stone tied to it, which was the case with second dead body found. Also it matched the clothes of Suraj as seen in CCTV footage of the day he vanished.

Shruti Shah, wife of the victim said that the first body resembled Suraj and even she couldn’t recognise. According to her the second body was of her husband and not the first.

After the twist, the police have started investigation to find out the details about the first body !!!
