We have equal right to claim ranks: Narayana group

‘Even before the agreement, Narayana students had secured top ranks’

Narayana Group of Institutions refuted the charges levelled against them by Sri Chaitanya and said the ‘Chaina’ (Chaitanya-Narayana) combined batch would continue till 2019 as per an agreement and both institutions have the right to publicise their students’ achievements. Directors of Narayana group, Sindhura and Sharani, and executive director Puneet termed the accusations as baseless and clarified that as per the MoU signed in 2014, both institutions have equal right to claim the results secured by the students of Chaina batch.

Dr. Sindhura said the academic schedule of Chaina were based on Narayana’s famous Co-Spark programme and even before the agreement, Narayana students had secured top ranks in national entrance exams.

Alleging that there were cases pending against Sri Chaitanya in Chandigarh for allegedly claiming top ranks of a local institute, she challenged Sri Chaitanya to announce their IIT top ranks before the formation of Chaina batch.

Ms. Sharani said as per the MoU, both institutions are entitled to announce ranks below 100 in IIT and ranks below 200 in medical as their own. Mr. Puneet said a decision to terminate the common batch can only be taken when the current students finish their course in 2019.
