Deadpool Wolverine movie: Ryan Reynolds DETERMINED to get Hugh Jackman return

The two actors may have crossed over in the critically-panned X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but that was back when the Merc with a Mouth, didn’t have, well, a mouth.

But having introduced the world to Deadpool in 2016, to great reviews and an incredible box office performance, Reynolds now wants to do a Wolverine crossover with Jackman justice.

But the only problem is the Aussie star bowed out as Wolverine in Logan last year, retiring from the role.

Nevertheless Reynolds is adamant in wanting to convince Jackman to return.

Reynolds, who stars in Deadpool 2 later this month, told Entertainment Weekly: “He’s alive and well in my timeline.

“There is a Logan running around out there with a little bushy chest and his little sharpy, sharpy claws, and he is alive and well and ready to go. I would love that.

“I think convincing Hugh of that would be a near-impossible feat, but there’s no human being I love more than Hugh Jackman in that universe, and equally so as a friend. He’s just the best.

“I already miss him as Logan, so I’m one of those guys that whenever I see him, I’m like, ‘Come on, man. Just one more. Come on. We’ll do it together. It’ll be fun. Come on! On three. Here we go, together. One, two, three, together,’ and it’s always just me saying it.”’

He said: “I'm hesitating, because I could totally see how that's the perfect fit. But the timing may be wrong.”

Since then the Aussie star has admitted he’s ready to see another actor take on the role.

And with Disney having acquired the rights to the X-Men from Fox, it’s possible we could see a new Wolverine in both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and future Deadpool outing.

Also, with Josh Brolin’s Cable already providing a gruff contrast to Deadpool’s silly antics, is a Wolverine crossover really necessary?

Deadpool 2 is released in UK cinemas on May 15, 2018.
