Another B’garh farmer attempts suicide

A day after a farmer, Akrura Bishi, tried to commit suicide before the district Collectorate by consuming poison, another farmer attempted to end his life allegedly over crop loss caused by Nor’wester and hailstorm in Kanabar village under Barpali block on Friday.

Identified as Niranjan Bhoi (33), the farmer went to his crop field in the morning and consumed poison.

Niranjan’s family members found him in an unconscious state and admitted to a nearby hospital from where he was later shifted to VIMSAR in Burla due to his deteriorating health condition.
