A woman has been critically injured in a high-speed head on crash in Doyleston, south of Christchurch.
The female driver, who was the sole occupant of one of the vehicles, sustained serious head and pelvic injuries.
The crash happened at the intersection of Volckman Rd and Drain Rd. The sole occupant of the other vehicle, who was male, had serious pelvic injuries.

Police were called to the scene at about 9:45am. The critically injured person was flown to Christchurch Hospital.
